News Announcement August 1, 2009: Congratulations to NEFC Boys U17 player, Matthew Keys on being selected to the Region I ODP '92 Regional Pool. After attending the Region I ODP Camp in Kutztown, PA, Matthew went on to attend the ODP Regional Call Back Camp recently held in Lancaster, MA. Boys U17 Coach, Bryan Devenney, states: "Matt's overall presence in the back is an asset to any team. The tenacity in his tackling makes attackers constantly wonder where he is. Consistency from game to game makes him a player that his teammates know they can rely on game in and game out. A gentleman on and off the field whom his teammates and coaches enjoy having on their side." Matthew also plays for King Philip Regional High School Varsity team, and as a sophomore received two distinguished awards: "2008 MVP Defensive Player of the Year" and "2008 Hockomock League All-Star Player". Matthew is also a member of the Rhode Island ODP. Congratulations!
News Announcement June 1, 2009: As previously announced, in addition to merging with FC Puma, NEFC is geographically expanding into the South Shore of Massachusetts. We are very pleased to announce the appointment of additional staff to run the South Shore region. Effective immediately Brendon Boates has accepted the position of Academy Director South Shore. NEFC is also continuing its geographical expansion into the South Coast of Massachusetts (Dartmouth, New Bedford, and Fall River region). We are pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Marino as the Director of our South Coast satellite. Cory Kinsella has accepted the position of Staff Coach.
Brendon Boates joins NEFC after spending the past 7 years as a Staff Coach & Junior Academy Director for Scorpions SC. Prior to that Brendon was the Men’s Assistant Coach at Bridgewater State College and was a Rhode Island State ODP Head Coach. He played at Springfield College and holds a NSCAA National Diploma.
Pat Marino has been with the Scorpions SC for the past 4 years as a Staff Coach and most recently as the Director of the Scorpions SC South. Prior to working for the Scorpions, Pat was an Assistant Coach at Tufts College and before that was a former professional player with the USISL League.
Cory Kinsella has been the head coach at Pine Manor for the past 3 years. Prior to that she was the Head Coach at Wheelock College. She was also Assistant Coach at Lesley University and Union College where she played in college. Cory holds a NSCAA license.

News Announcement: June 4, 2009: We are pleased to announce that Marco Koolman has joined NEFC as a Staff Coach. Marco will be coaching a U13 and U16 boy’s team for NEFC. Marco is currently the Head Assistant Coach at Boston College. For the past nine years he was a highly successful coach who guided Franklin Pierce University to the 2007 Division II Nat'l Championship. The Ravens posted a record of 125-45-21 and a 86-21-10 mark in Northeast - 10 Conference competition during Koolman's tenure. Marco earned a NSCAA Division II Nat'l Coach of Year honor in 2007 while garnering New England Region coach of the Year honors three times in the last five seasons (2004, 2006 and 2007). Marco began his coaching career at Gannon University, his alma mater, immediately following his four-year playing career.
News Announcement June 16, 2009: It is with great pleasure that NEFC will have a Division One Maple slot at the GU-16 level for the 2010 spring season! The FC Puma girls team won their promotion play in game verse Scorpions Maple D1 squad 6-0 Sunday 6/14/09. Any player looking to compete at the highest level in Maple next season and will be looking for a new opportunity with a new team should be at upcoming tryouts for the chance to compete for one of the spots on this team. Congratulations to Rich Frongillo, Boys U12 Coach. New England FC is pleased to congratulate Rich Frongillo on recently being named by Mass Youth Soccer as its 2008 Boys' Competitive Coach of 2008! Rich was also named US Youth Soccer's Region 1 Coach of the Year encompassing 13 states. Rich will be recognized at a US Youth Soccer event in San Jose, CA in March. Congratulations Rich! |
